The Poetry Club

Hi, my name is Jasmine, and I am a junior at Newark Tech. I enjoy reading, staying active within my school, community, and learning about different cultures.

I decided to join the poetry club because I recognized the importance a single word can have on society. When multiple words are grouped together, they create a larger impact. I wanted to be that connection between poets and the readers.

Hey! My name is Melissa, I am a junior at Newark Tech. Writing and drawing are two of my favorite things- so of course, I joined the "Poetry Club". I decided to give the club a try- and enjoy it a lot. One of the most beautiful ways to express oneself is through poetry. Through their creation, so much can be said about the creator. I believe we are all creators waiting to be heard.

Dr. Lynn Love-Kelly, Advisor

Dr. Lynn Love-Kelly has been an advisor to the newsletter club for 13 years and the poetry club for 2 years. She enjoys teaching high school English with an emphasis on developing writing skills and creating a space for creativity within students.
